Review: Elizabeth Arden Mascara

Hello ladies,

Today I am reviewing one of my favourite things...mascara :) I had such a great response from my mascara review: helping find the right one for you post, now you ladies need to add this to your collection!

I got this Elizabeth Arden beautiful Color mascara set in my recent feelunique haul for just £17.85. along with the Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Lash Enhancing Mascara 7ml, I also got a 5ml Visable Difference Moisturising Eye Cream and 50ml All Gone Eye & Lip Makeup remover.
The Mascara claims to volumise, lengthen and curl your lashes, I would not falsify this but I have found this to be one of the most natural looking mascaras I can find. I am blessed with long fairly thick, curly lashes and so this product really helps me to accentuate them.

I personally love how this mascara looks, It leaves lashes looking beautifully fanned out with a little extra volume without that clumpy look other mascaras give. It simply showcases your natural lashes, a 9/10 for me.

The Visible Difference Moisturizing Eye Cream
This is a really good eye cream, it seams to help lock in moisture all day, and apparently targets dark circles, so perfect for keeping a fresh faced look. This is a small sample size but I may just have to buy this when it runs out as its really makes my skin feels refreshed.

The All Gone Eye &Lip Makeup Remover
This is a really good product in that it actually works. The two-phase formulation easily removes all makeup including stubborn waterproof mascara. I do prefer the Olay Essentials eye make up remover (review) as it is more gentle for my sensitive skin, but this is a good product.

Overall I'm really happy with this purchase, I don't think the pictures do the mascara justice, I definitely recommend you ladies buy this set and see for yourself how good the products are. Hit the follow button for more beauty ramblings.

Review: Olay Essentials eye makeup remover

Hello ladies,
Iv been thinking for a while to do a post on a few different make up removers and state what skin type I think they are best for etc. but then I found this little beauty that I think is perfect for everyone so here is my review...

Price: I have seen these range between £1-4 and can literally be purchased anywhere including Boots, Superdrug, Tesco etc.

Bad: N/A  yes that's right I really can not think of anything bad!

Good: This actually wipes off all products. I have tested this on about 10 different mascaras and eye liners waterproof non-waterproof, eye shadow, glitter, you name it, and it always comes off perfectly. This is super creamy, a lot of make up removers are watery, and most creamy ones have hurt my eyes. This is super gentle and soft on your skin. The instructions do say avoid contact with eyes but I use this everyday and it has not stung them once.
It is fragrance and colour free which is great if you have sensitive skin like myself.

I have used so many other removers ladies and this really is the best I can find for my super sensitive skin. It is great quality for money.I have used a few products form the Olay Essentials range and have no complaints about any of them, they all maintain a really high standard of quality, and they do what they say they will!

YSL Le Teint Touche Éclat Foundation

As somewhat of a foundation hoarder I couldn't resist trying YSL's most raved about foundation. Although I am not usually one to go for dewy foundations this has definitely gained a place as one of my faves.

This is a medium coverage foundation; you may still wish to use concealer but it has plenty of cover for an everyday base. Most importantly this is a really comfortable base product that sits nicely on the skin. I have combination skin and this does not cling to my dry areas, or sit on top of my more oily areas. It has a lovely natural dewy finish to it and just makes you look healthy and more perfected, which lets be honest, we could all do with a little perking up in the mornings.

I would say this would work best on normal to dry skin. If you are very oily then this can be powdered, but there are probably other foundations you would like better such as the Estee Lauder Double Wear that has a more matte finish. I personally like to use the YSL Souffle D'eclat Loose Powder (review) with this foundation. Partially just because I am used to using products that the brand chose to compliment each other, but also because I find that it actually does sit very nicely on the foundation. The powder does not take away from the healthy finish of the foundation, but it does kick back the shine on my more oily skin.  I find I usually wear this on off duty days as an easy to apply option but this is also a really lovely base for events. If you ever want to feel good about your skin then this is a good place to start and it has really good longevity for such a glowing formulation. If you would like to see the other products I am pictured wearing click here.

This comes with a vast range of shades. Unfortunately they do steer towards a more paler skin tone, but compared to other high end foundations they do have a much wider selection of warmer tones available also, so hopefully they will continue to expand the shade range.

This retails for £31.50 for 30ml which you can purchase on Yves Saint Laurent beauty counters and online here.

Review: Cosmopolitan blend perfection sponge

Hello ladies,
I love trying out new products, so after hearing so many positive things about beauty blenders I thought I may as well give them a go.

If you read my recent haul you know I picked up this one from feelunique.com. They retail around £5, and they can be purchased from Boots, Superdrug etc. but they were always sold out when I looked.

Bad: The only down side is that it holds a lot of product. Of course this is a sponge so this should be expected. However this does mean that I would still use my blending or stippling brush to apply my foundation, so as not to waste too much product, then this to blend in my concealer.

Good: This blends so well! In the past I have always used my fingers to apply my concealer in order for it to be blended in well, but this does it even better. It creates a seamless finish. By using the sponge in a light dabbing motion it helps to create full coverage as product is not being moved but dabbed on to the skin. Because our fingers are warm, products becomes creamier when touched and therefore more likely to rub off on to our fingers, with the sponge this does not happen so perfect for covering those annoying blemishes or dark circles.

I suggest you using the pointy side to dab in product around your eyes and the rounded side for concealing blemishes. I have also been lightly dabbing this over my eyebrows after filling them in, as I have such dark eyebrows this stops them standing out so much.

I love this product and would definitely recommend everyone to buy one. Hit the follow button for more reviews coming this week.

make up look: lunch date

Hello lovelies,

I haven't posted a make up look for a while so thought it was about time. You ladies know I love simple looks, so here is a really sleek simple look; perfect for a lunch or coffee date.

Face: YSL Le Teint Touche Éclat- Dot a few blobs over your face and blend using a blending brush or fingers if you prefer.

Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Lift and Firm Concealer- Dab a few dots under eyes, a small line down your nose and a little on your top lip then blend in using a beauty blender.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Powder Foundation in shades Pure Beige and Wheat- Apply the lighter shade all over your face with a duo-fiber face brush, then the darker shade down sides of nose and under cheek bones with a contour brush.

Eyes: Estee Lauder Pure Color 07 Surreal Skies- Apply shade shimmer all over lid, satin on outer to middle lid and then matte to your crease, concentrating on the outer corner of your eye.

Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Colour Mascara in Black- apply an even coat to top and bottom lashes.

Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Colour Brow Shaper and Eyeliner shade 04 Brunette- Fill in your eyebrows using a angled brush then apply a little colour to the outer corner of your lower lash line using the excess products from the angled brush.

Lips Mac in shade High Tea- Apply a light coat and blot with tissue dependant on how much lip product wanted.

By using your eyebrow shade instead of eyeliner it creates a really soft smoky eye which is perfect when using earthy and neutral colours. You can see I have hardly applied any eye shadow, but at a distance this subtle smoky effect really helps to define your eyes and make them stand out.

Hope you like this make up look ladies, of course this look can be re created on a budget but honestly these face products stay matte all day; so it's sometimes worth buying more expensive products provided they are better quality.

feelunique haul...

Hello lovelies,
I have been a bit naughty again and have another haul for you ladies :) Last week I just had a little browse on feelunique.com so these are the things that took my fancy...

So as you may know I love Elizabeth Arden products they are always amazing quality, so when I was looking through the mascaras and saw this little set I just could not resist. It included a 7ml Beautiful Color Lash Enhancing Mascara in black, a 5ml tube of Visible Difference Moisturising Eye Cream and a 50ml bottle of All Gone Eye and Lip Makeup Remover in a cute little gold make up bag.
The second thing that caught my eye was this Beautiful Color Brow Shaper and Eyeliner pot in 04 brunette, also Elizabeth Arden. I have previously been using eye shadows from various palettes so thought it was about time I got one a little more portable. The shade looks a little bright but the next darkest was black so hopefully this will look ok.

Recently I have been getting really oily skin so though I would try a new foundation and concealer. I got Le Teint Touche Éclat 30ml foundation from YSL in shade BD 40 Beige Dore, and I chose Elizabeth Arden's Ceramide Lift and Firm Concealer in shade 2 fair.

The last thing I got was something I have been wanting to try for a while, but every Boots and Superdrug store I have been in to has run out or has not had it. This is the Cosmopolitan Blend Perfection Sponge. It has had really good reviews and seeing as I have gone for a liquid concealer I thought this would help me to bled it much better than my buffing brush.

I'm really looking forward to using all of these products. Over the next week I will be doing a make up look and some reviews for you ladies. Hit the follow button to be the first to see my latest posts.
